What if Rolex made a Minute-Repeater?
I think minute-repeaters are cool timepieces. It would be really nice if Rolex made one. Maybe as a limited edition?

Minute-Repeater
1. a device, in a watch, in which the current time is announced by means of a combination of sounds that represent the hour, quarter hour, and minute; usually activated by a button Example Pretty much, to make it simple, the "dings" stand for the hour, 15 minute intervals, and the minutes. Ding=hours, dingdong=15 min intervals, and the dongs=1 minute, so ding, ding, ding, dingdong, dingdong, dong, dong, dong, dong, dong, is 3:35. |

I agree... they are absolutely stunning watches! The craftsmenship that goes in to making a repeater watch is amazing!

I think it's simplicity and durability that have helped sustain Rolex and their image all these years. A minute repeater is the polar opposite of that image.

Yes, I'd agree. I believe that a minute repeater is a very, very delicate mechanism that cannot withstand much shock. I can't see how Rolex can make one and retain its "tough watch'', sporting image.
