It'll be a couple of years until I can afford my next Rolex, and as I picked my new GMT IIc up yesterday I can happily say.............. I don't care!

I do not have the official price list. From my AD, SS Subdate has gone up about 3%.

I guess this doesn't come as a surprise ? I was told about this by my AD here in Spain about 2 weeks ago and posted this : http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=105907
We will have the 4% from Bienne and 3% VAT raise on top of that from Palacio de la Moncloa ( Spanish government )
My wife was asking why I was having this Rolex buying frenzy lately ....at least that was my excuse to her .

haven't been to any ADs in London since it is the new year day today.

There were talks of price increase for the uk in the new year a couple of months back. The increase will probably include the VAT increase back to 17.5%.

I'm sure Chris will let us know once he hears anything!

As for the quote for the GMTIIC, in most cases, as long as a deposit was put down to secure the order, then the old price should stand, otherwise it depends on the prior arrangement you have with the AD, preferably in writing.

I have not put down a deposit but have agreed to buy either the Sub LV or the GMT II..I have both prices on paper.. The deal would have been done if he had a GMT in stock.. We are waiting for the watch which has been sent from Rolex headquarters in the Netherlands.. It will be in on tuesday... I assume that the old price will still apply in this situation.. ??

if that was the arrangement you had with the AD, then I would expect them to hold their price.

Has your AD mentioned anything about a price increase in your country? Even if there is one, it may not be happening that quickly anyway....?!?

I've been shafted by a UK AD on price before when buying a panerai...even though I had put down a deposit, had the agreed price in writing they still wanted to charge me the extra when panerai put up their prices...they wouldn't honour the origianl price so I didn't buy the watch. Trading standards told me I should have asked for the stores full written terms and conditions as they would probably state that the price can change if full payment not made. They said the best way to secure a price is to pay in ful and get a receipt.

This seems to be the case with most AD's
My wife went out to buy me a DJ2 for Xmas , she did leave it a bit late and there was no white roman to be had in time and they could not give her an exact delivery date nor the price as they expected that the watch would come in along with a price increase . As it was no longer a "secret" I took the liberty to broker the deal with one of our trusted sellers on this forum and this saved my wife a considerable amount of money . Will have to wait till the 16th to get my paws on it .

The place where I work was emailed the latest price increase, and that only reflected the nationwide VAT increase, so hopefully they won't be anything more. On another note, Cartier have put their prices up despite sales bombing - let's hope Rolex sees more sense.

Any price increase reported in the U.S. yet? This is the biggest question in my mind because the SE Asia price increase has been anticipated (Taiwan on Dec 1) and rest of the region following (now in Singapore and Malaysia as members have reported). In addition, UK and EU countries "increasing prices" driven by (or in conjunction of) the VAT adjustment.

The U.S. has no changes in taxes nor have our neighbors (in the same region) shown an increase in a while. Given that US sales dropped about 40% in 2009, I think Rolex was being smart about it.

Now - it's 2010, has anyone confirmed any updates in prices in the U.S. yet? If it happens, it will probably happen after the 2nd week of January. The reason I say this is because Rolex USA basically go on hiatus through Jan. 4th., then they do an inventory (which can take a week), and get ready to notify the dealers - probably looking at the 2nd to 3rd week of January.

Just my 2 cents (soon to worth less after the price increase).

I guess the price increases are the only way to keep the resale value up. The increases will eventually stop some of us from being able to afford the Rolex product.

I'm not sure if Rolex MSRP dropped when UK VAT dropped to 15%.

If they didn't, the current increase resulting from a return to 17.5% is not only actually a nett price rise but Rolex/AD's have been scoring that 2.5% reduction that should have been made months ago.

I received another brochure in the post today.... the one that includes the DJII's.... (along with the UK price list at 17.5% VAT) ....
& now I think that Rolex might announce a UK price rise when they start ditributing the next brochure which includes any new models showcased at & released after Basel.

When I picked up my DJ from Ernest Jones a few days ago they said that they were due to put prices up later this month. They had already put the extra VAT back on. It was probably just a sales pitch, but still...

They said it could be anywhere from 5% to 10%
