We have had a lot of posts about the freezing weather in the Northern Hemisphere.
I spent the first 18 years of my life in Aberdeen Scotland - didn't like the cold.
Then spent 5 years in Auckland New Zealand - temperate weather - quite enjoyed it.
I have been in Adelaide since I moved to Australia - it can be hot - the next 5 days will be 35, 38, 41, 41 & 41.
So which do you prefer.
Cold weather - so you can warm up by the fire?
Hot weather - so you can cool down in the pool?
Neither - temperate weather for me.

How hot/cold does it get in your neck of the woods?

I hate the cold - period. Always have. I used to like the heat, but as I am beginning to age ...

... I can barely deal with that either. So now I'm a temperate kinda guy.

I like warmer weather, the more time for the beach the better.

Having hit 60 a few years ago I have to agree with temperate.

What annoys me most is the Duc sitting in the garage while it's 41*c Saturday AND Sunday.

Temperate for me, i dont do very well with both hot and cold weather. but if i had to choose one, i'd rather be in a hot weather condition - at least i can alway just in the pool and have a cold beer!

The beer and cigars are always here for you in South Australia Dave.

I heard you are having a GTG up there but I am preparing for a Project in Melbourne otherwise I would certainly have flown up.

Look after Steve, make sure he stays out of trouble.

My son's (Ashley) girlfriend is on holiday in the UK with her parents. She is up near Inverness visiting family right now.

She can't believe how cold it is (-5*C but feels like -11*C).

Fortunately I can't remember that far back.

Its not cold up there :-) was there a couple years ago, the other half was that rugged up it was ridiculous hahahaha, then again, I was walking around the top of Mp Pilatus in Switzerland in a t-shirt and shorts at the tale end of winter hahahha The cold has never bothered me

Although I do enjoy the change in seasons, a warm climate allows for much more outdoor cycling. Indoor cycling is just sheer torture.

I tolerate cold weather better than really hot weather, but I like the mostly temperate weather of the Pacific Northwest. Mid-70's to me is just about ideal.

Directioneng has the right idea. I like Fall, and Spring. I hate taking a shower during the Summer, and walking outside to start sweating. I also hate walking outside to get hit with a blast of freezing cold air. Both suck the same. If you step out, and feel a light breeze, and not hot, or cold, Time to fire up a cigar! I'm not going to wear a giant parka, and puff 10 minutes on a $10 cigar and hate every minute of it. I'm not going to go outside and wipe sweat from my brow and try to handle a handrolled baby from Cuba. Just ain't happenin. 70 temp is my time

Auckland can get quite warm especially this time of year when temperatures can hover around the 30ºC mark.

Me, I much prefer the cold to the heat, but temperate climate is always preferred.

For me, anything over 77ºF (25ºC) starts to get very uncomfortable.

25-30C is PERFECT for me! Anything below 18C and I get pissy about the weather.

-14C here right now, so imagine how much I'm "enjoying it."

Any weather where I can't be outside comfortably to eat dinner in my pergola is too cold for me.

So, Temperate to Hot for me!

Even the term "temperate" is relative. My ideal temperature range is low sixties to low seventies since I like to walk, and that is ideal for taking long walks or hikes.

I prefer temperate weather. Living in Houston though has me quite used to the humidity and heat, which I'll take over cold any day of the week

Ideal temp would be 75F degrees
