anyone know what the cost of a new clasp is ?

Cost of a ND sub clasp is $350.00 so I would expect the Sub Date clasp to be about the same. (that price includes the trade in discount as Rolex will not sell you a clasp unless you send them the old clasp first.) Sorry to hear about your accident...
