Anyone know much about the IWC Aquatimer?
Just received (the excellent) IWC catalogue and I'm amazed by the look of this watch. I particuarly like the blue face with the blue strap. Anyone have one or seen one in the flesh?
Thoughts on this watch? |

I am a bigger fan of the older version of the Aquatimer; I think it looks much better than the new, however, you can't really go wrong with an IWC.

I don't know much about the Aquatimer line, but I love IWC in general and the Pilot line in particular. Very nice watches.

What I do know:
The bezel, like the crystal, is sapphire. The bezel sapphire rests on plexiglass. The underside of the bezel is coated w/ Super-Luminova, so the numbers on the bezel glow just like the dial. I tried on the one with the rubber strap and it was very comfortable, even though I have a small wrist and the watch is 44mm. |

I was considering the yellow/black non-chrono until I tried it on and ruled it out due to its excessive bulk. The IWC is elegant-looking but also very big and thick, on par with a DeepSea.

It is definitely big and thick, but doesn't wear like the Deep Sea - Not as heavy at least.
