GMT II C Power Reserve is Unsatisfactory !
Well I keep testing my Rollies.. I donno why ?? Is this a normal behaviour or what ?? Anyway, I was testing my new GMT II C [V serial] this week for accuracy and power reserve .. Well the result for accuracy is excellent [ +2sec/24Hrs ] But the power reserve was UNSATISFACTORY [ 32~34 Hrs ] at Full Tank !!! Is this normal ? I tested the watch several times the dial face up but had the same result ! The GMT 2 specs is [ 48 Hrs ] for the 3186 movement .. Does the power reserve improves by time ? Anyone has the same problem ? I really feel bad for this result.. But I cannot deny that the movement feeling while adjusting hours/min. and winding the GMT II is TOP-NOTCH..

PR should be close to 48 hours.
Just give it a full 45 turns of the crown and then note date and time. Set aside for 2 days and then note the time when it stops. You should get very close to 48 hours with this watch. JJ

Does't sound like it was fully wound to me, mine does just under 47 hours

my 16610 V series tested is exactly 48 hrs (very accurate)
maybe u need to take it back to service centre in this case |

Mine was also 32 hours when I checked it... but I believe it wasn't fully wound since I didn't really make 40 - 45 turns....

Fully winding My GMT2
Thank you for your comments.. It seems I don't fully wind my Rollies.. I always give it like 20~30 turns. But after making some readings, I found that over winding a Rolex, will not harm its movement..as there is a protecting clutch mechanism..
.. So let me do what JJ & Padi suggested.. I trust them as I trust my GMT2 will make it..

I get 40 hours plus, but only if don't use it as back-up power supply for my lap-top

You can actually listen and feel for when the clutch slips the winding mechanism to prevent over winding. Observe normal feel and winding noise of the crown on your watch, and after about 40 or so turns, you should notice that the "click" noise that it makes will get louder and not as consistent as before, also it should feel slightly more gritty when you turn it. Thats when you know the watch will wind no more.

This was the longest 2 days I've had without my GMT!
 My test started with the watch set at 5:15 am on April 19. Gave it a full 45 turns of the crown and the seconds hand started ticking after 15 revolutions. The watch came to a complete stop at 5:42 am on April 21 clocking in at 48 hours and 27 minutes.  JJ, you were spot on! Quote:

My GMT2 passed the second test...
Thank you all for your support & comments.. I decided to repeat the Power Reserve Test for the second time.
Result: Test started @ 8:40pm.on 22/04 - ended @ 8:40pm. on 24/04 >>> Power Reserve = 48 hrs. sharp. ...Now I feel better.. My GMT2 passed the test !!

With all of these power reserve tests, I decided to test my 116718 that I just purchased... It also went 48 hours, 29 minutes
