Help Choosing an International Cell Phone And/Or Sim card

Hey guys,

I'm going to Prague in 2 weeks, and I wanted to pick up 3 an international cells or just the sim cards to use in an unlocked quad band phone so my friends and I can communicate. I'm thinking about going with a Passport US card from Telestial, but they give you a UK number and calling mobile to mobile is around .84 a minute.

Anyone have any experience with them or have any other suggestions??

Thanks in advance!

I would just get a local "prepaid" sim card as soon as you arrive . Your friends and family can reach you on the number you will communicate them and you do not pay a fortune receiving the call .Out going will cost about the same I presume . ($1 min to the US )

+1
If you have AT&T or T-Mobile, just have international service active on your account just in case somebody needs to get in touch with you and does not have the local prepaid number.

That's what I do.

as suggested - the local simcard would be the easiest and most economical option. I would also sticking with texting/SMS only as it is cheaper that way, unless it is an urgent matter, then the phone call.

Other than that, I use email to communicate when travelling.

most airport should sell them after you have clear the customs. If not, major supermarket or petrol station should have them.

It would all good to go once it is activated.

Which phone are you planning in taking with you? A tri-band or a quad-band?
