What's your best discount on a new Rolex?

I'm curious to know the level of discounts people have been able to get off a new Rolex from an AD. I was able to get 29% off!

I have been offered $1000.00 off. Planning on taking it up this weekend.

The only ADs reasonably close to me seem very unwilling to discount (or maybe it's just my age?). 5% is the best they'll do, but that's offered right off the bat anyway.

It obviously helped that I have been using them for all other jewelery purchases in the past.

Indeed, it seems ADs are compliant for loyal customers. I'm guessing it helps to be independently owned as well?

darthmouse,

I am 28. They offered me $1000.00 off and that wasnt even paying with all cash! This was a small jewlery store, legit AD but had another shop location. both are set in reputable areas.

Im going to actually use this to my advantage and try to get the best deal.

about 20% off, with a (then) highly wanted Milgauss. A friends friend worked at the AD..

when I tried the same thing with my sd v-serie, the answer was a nice but firm NO. You cant always win...

Yes, my AD is independently owned, which does help.

Thank you TopNotch, that is helpful information. I think I'll have to try some of the further away ADs as well!

I would love to see if anyone unknown to the dealer, managed to get a discount in the UK. From my experience it's next to impossible

At an AD, I paid 4300+tax for a BNIB 16710 after the official price had gone to 5750 right before it was discontinued.

I was offered 20% before... but 15% seems to be the norm.

Perhaps the ADs I visited were doing very well, for they all declined 10%. Instead they offered an extended warranty...

I do understand that teenagers don't exactly seem like potential loyal customers. I also heard the classic "Rolex doesn't let us" line.

Depends a lot on the model. 10-15% stainless sport models, 30% all gold models.

Exactly that is my experience. The best I've got from AD is 18% off and no tax on the then/as always hot ss Submariner 16610. When I've asked around here in DC or in NYC since, it is pretty much 0% for popular models. That's why I shop via TRF! :-)

Royal De Versaille offered me %22 with out asking but taxes negate half of that discount.

I got an even bigger discount from you know who on the forum ;)

My local ADs don't offer a discount on stainless sports models, but they'll move on two-tone and gold models.

My local AD offered 10% +no tax on sports models like the DS. Out of state ADs have offered me 12% +no tax. The Torneau store at Pentagon Ciity Mall offered ZERO discount on the DS and snooty attitude, which is why I will never buy or use them for anything, ever again.

LOL you know that one of the conditions is to never let anyone know that they gave me that discount. However I should clarify that the 29% includes no tax. Therefore, I just compared what I would have had to pay after tax to what I actually paid. It also took some pushing for me to get that as they said they do not like discounting the DJII as it has been a really hot item for them, especially with the matted balck face and roman numerals as they said that it might take them up to a year to get that dial again. But I have been a loyal customer for a while, which in the end was the key.

Way back when, Rolex used to sell their watches at half price to airline pilots & stews.

I got my first subbie through a friend who was a Pan Am purser at 50% off and no tax!

Ah, the good old days...

Of course, of course. This is for when I am ready to buy a TT GMTc (very soon). I'll ping you when I'm ready and you can try. If it works, ok. If not, ok too.
