Could a vintage date wheel be installed on a modern Sub?

I am fascinated by the vintage date wheels with the open '6' and '9' features. I wonder if I could have my 16610 LV's date wheel replaced with a vintage one. Has anyone ever done this or know if it is possible?

Thanks!

There are probably Subs (I know there are SeaDwellers) from the 80s that have open wheels. They had 3035 movements, and the 3135 is an evolution of that movement. So it's likely, but I'd post it in the tech section for a definitive answer.
