I don't play golf but....

I just read something that said you should NOT wear your Rolex while playing golf as you will damage the rotor?????

Is there any truth in this????

If you don't play golf - why worry about it.

I don't know about damaging the rotor but I take any watch off my wrist when I play golf cuz I don't like the weight of the damn thing bothering me.

I worn my DJ on the course for 28 years. I played a lot. The only problem was that I carry my bag and some times the strap would catch the band and bend it. Now I am more careful. Another thing to watch is the cuff. Believe it or not my old Titleist jacket had metal snaps that scratched the acrylic crystal. Easily fixed and tossed the jacket. I still have the watch and still wear it on the course although now I golf most of the time in a new DJ.

I feel as though I play better with my Rolex compared to my Seiko, I think they did a study that proves that you can actually lower your score by wearing a Rolex - I don't remember exactly

Mechanical watches have been to Mt. Everest, North & South pole, even the moon! How can the shocks from golf swings damage the movement?

BTW, Phil wears a Cellini Danaos...

Just a thought... The watch is worn on the supporting hand while hole punching. However, the hand usually absorbs most of the impact when you golf.

I tend to take deep divots for my iron shots. From time to time I could feel the flywheel spins like crazy after those iron shots.

I have been wearing a cheap mechanical watch with ETA movement as a beater on golf course for about an year (roughly 50+ rounds a year). Surprisingly, it hasn't failed so far.
