Tough decision on aftermarket diamond bezel

I've always wanted an "iced out" datejust but didn't want to fork over the scratch to get the DJ that already had face and bezel diamonds

I purchased my new 116200 DJ a few days ago and am now looking to add an aftermarket non-rolex diamond bezel. The watch is beautiful as is but I really want the little extra the diamond bezel brings. I understand that my warranty basically goes out the door and the watch is no longer a 100% Rolex. It's a tough choice....does anyone have experience with this type of add-on? Problems? How they felt after it was added?

Also does the jeweler need to open up the face/glass to put this bezel on?

Any help would be appreciated

if i was you i'd leave something that was perfect already alone.he does not have to remove the glass all he does is pries the old one off and press the new one on.but when you service the watch, rsc will replace it to original condition.so you'll have to put the old one back on before you put it in the rsc.good luck i'd leave it alone if i was you a rolex doesnt really need a diamond bezel to state what it states.

Since you asked and if you want a very honest opinion, don't do a thing to that beautiful watch. An aftermarket diamond bezel will look CHEAP and degrade the authenticity and originality of your watch.

Seriously, I would NEVER do it. Just my 2 cents.....but, hey, it's your watch!!

Cheers - JJ

Agree with these statements, since you asked. However, it IS your watch. Good luck with whatever decision you make.

wow...these responses are definitely leaning me towards leaving it alone

It's funny how adding diamonds cheapens the overall presentation and intended look

I'll sleep on it for a while before I make a decision

You guys are purists for sure...and I see where you're coming from

Thanks for taking our advice in the good spirit you have, my friend. Can you post a picture of your 116200? That would be nice.

Thanks - JJ

Again, good luck with whatever decision you make. And I will chime in with JJ regarding a photo of your DJ... We would love to see it. I LOVE mine, and I definitely love it just the way it was originally made:

Yea, I would leave your new watch alone. However if you want a blinged out DJ with diamond markers and bezel you can get a used one here with aftermarket add ons. 2 year warranty from them and they will negotiate the price over the phone.

I know what you mean. Is this the one with the Romans and Oyster bracelet which you recently picked up for $3800? Excellent watch (as I sit here trying to picture it with my over-active imagination!!)

If you put a diamond bezel on that beauty, I'm afraid I'll have to kill you!!
