Price check 16610?
Went in to AD looking for 116610. Saw a used 16610 black, circa 1990, recent service, seems all original, no box or papers. Has 1 year warranty. Asking $4500. Seems a little steep. Any thoughts?

To much. Look on the sales corner and you can find one a few years old for a similar price.

A little high. I would think $4,000 would be plenty.

That's a 3000 dollar watch there tops. Actually more like 2.8.

That price is pretty typical of a Dealer.. Used Subs have been around 4,000 for the past few years, serviced, at Authorized Dealers. With the latest round of price increases I would believe that they would rise to 4,500.00
As I say, that should be serviced and with a Dealer warranty. An AD will almost never have an original box or paper on serviced, used watches They can be found cheaper at non-ADs and here if you are only shopping price........

I'm looking at 16610's in the For Sale section and they're all super expensive.. Where are the ones in $3-$4k range?

For that price, I would either buy new or something LNIB here on TRF for the same amount of $$$... Some of the trusted sellers here are Tony (JUSTROLEXES), Oscar (BODYBUMP), David (DAVIDSW), Greg (MOSCO) and others buth these ones come to mind....
I would PM them and see what they have or can get for you

Really only important for a collector or if you plan on selling the watch in the future. If you plan on keeping, not important.

What do you think of an L-series 16610 (89-90) in terms of value for the coming five years? Up, down or will it stay about the same?
And in general on 16610 and 14060 subs, do people look at the production year or do they go just on the condition on the watch (including patina etc.)? Would you consider a 16610 L-series a fairly good "investment" if i plan to keep it for about 5 years or so? Not saying i want to make money on it, just want to ensure that i dont loose that much on it. A small loss is acceptable (and maybe to count with?). Thanks |
