1 of 2....abp
I got one of my two straps in. Quick and dirty P&S camera pics. Don't have time to bring out DSLR right now. Pics are about 10min old as they took that long to upload ;-)
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Overall, I'm pretty happy. I'll comment on the quality in a few weeks to compare to OEM, but initial thoughts are good. Build quality seems VERY good, but I'm not as excited about the pattern of scales I got. They aren't necessarily bad per se, just not what I was expecting. One more strap on the way for me! ;-) Comments welcome!

Nice combo Mik!
I was wondering out loud what your review of the strap would be compared to OEM. I have been debating about ABP crocs for a long time but ultimately, I went OEM. what do you think about ABP...worth the hype? I do like their exotic colors and tannings

For the time being, it is thicker than the OEMs and also, this is a bit wider at the tail. It is 26/24 opposed to the 27/22 oems

Do you size the ABP gators down from AMMO's? If so, how much?

I went for more of the OEM size, but I have seen people order them with TONS of tail. I was going to slightly more dressy, but with this color, it dresses up or down easy. I wore it today with an old leather belt, canvas shoes and green cargos. Looked perfect.

ABP makes exceptional straps. However it looks a little "rough"... Maybe it's that the patterns aren't symmetrical? Or that there's too much pattern? Just an honest opinion.

The strap looks to have no, or very little taper. Does it make the watch look and feel bigger or no change?

Correct, normal oem's are 27/22. This is 26/24. It is a little more casual. Love it.

One is the width of the strap at the lugs compared to tip/buckle. My strap is made 26mm at the lugs because it is a Radiomir (I could go up to 27mm really). The tip of the strap and the buckle is 24mm. So my strap tapers from 26 to 24. Shorthand is 26/24. You'll often see other measures like 120/75. That is the overall length of the tail side and the buckle side in mm, but those numbers have nothing to due with taper. Here is a quick iPhone pic (forgive the quality) ![]() See how the tail side is narrow at the tip (24mm) and thick and the lug (26mm) See how the thick at the the strap is at lug (26mm) and the buckle side is narrow (24mm) There is also another kind of taper that is needed for deployant buckles, but this is the thickness (or padding) of the strap. Deployant straps are more padded near the lugs and thinner near the deployant. This is necessary for the deployant to fit properly. My strap was made for a buckle, so it has nearly the same padding throughout (although very slighly thinner at the tail side, but not enough for a deployant to work.) Make sense?
