Does the bezel of Double red sea dweller...
move in both directions smoothly with no clicks? I saw one and it did this...not sure if that is correct or not??

Some moved both ways and the bezel needed to be pressed down to do this.

All 1680's and early SD 1665's (incl. all Double Reds) have a press-to-release; no ratchet; bi directional bezel..
The 16800 Sub and 16660 SD that followed in about 1978/79 introduced the 120 click ratcheting, uni-directional bezel...
