Thoughts on the 311.33.42.50.01.001
50th anniversary Speedmaster?
Please feel free to give any info or opinions or experiences you have with the watch. Pics would also be welcome. I'm thinking about picking one up, is there another model I should be considering? And lastly, would you trade a PO for it. Thanks

I saw one at a local AD about a year ago and was very impressed but it was out of my price range. He was asking full retail.
My favorite dealer has three in stock and when I spoke with him last week, he was offering a heck of a deal - much better than his normal discount. Had I not just added a couple of Rolexes to my collection, I would be sorely tempted. Fr. John† |

I don't know this for sure. I know the 50th has sapphire, I think it's 42mm, and comes equipped with the coaxial manual wind. Other than that, I do not know.

thank you very much for pointing out this amazing model to me..I had not seen this version before as Speedy LEs come out rather quickly but this is so distinctly perfect...it has a black enamel dial with sapphire front and back and a one-ff Co-Ax hand wound calibre not available with any other model as far as a I know...limited edition of 1957...also the packaging is special(wooden box and aleather trim inside with I guess a spare leather strap+deployant too from the packaging pic I saw but cant copy somehow) and thir is great finishing on the movt too (pics borrowed from another site).
I thing, not adhering to classics in the movt department, this is the perfect modern Speedy and would go for it if I had the $$$ |

I'm not sure about the watch it's self, I saw one last year and couldn't work out why it is SO expensive, but I would love one of the boxes with the tools and extra strap for my meteorite speedy.
