Let me guess the occupation of the wearer:
Construction worker?
Rock Climber?
Miner?

A very very underated watch IMO the Tudor sub,and quite few countries chose the Tudor sub over the Rolex Sub.For military use and not because of the price difference.

Looks like it got in the ring with Jocke and then jumped back out before it got too bad.

Nick, but, for real how can these watches go that long. How bad does the inside look, gears and all.

Regards,
Lane

Nice one

Mine was much the same.
Since your the man on these Nick, how do you rate them against a similar vintage Rolex sub. I know these later ones have the ETA movement but are they comparable in performance to their Rolex cousins

Wouldn't you expect most of the movement parts all worn for a daily wearer after 27 years without service

and not just auto rotor parts worn

I'll post after-service photos
Nick,

Could I expect the same condition if it was an Omega that was unserviced and not opened for close to 30 years or is it just a Rolex? What is a ballpark worth for a watch that old in said condition?
Thanx again for some great posts...

Excellent job Nick I see what you mean you didn't want to take away from the classic look of the watch by replacing with new parts but clean it up enough so that it is much easier to admire... thanx again for some informative posts!
