Well the watch could be genuine but the diamond dial IMO is a aftermaket so is bezel and states bracelet is.So if I was you leave well alone because any watch with (aftermarket parts fitted non Rolex) Rolex US would refuse to service it

The seller seems genuine enough. I would say go for it, proceed with caution and keep money aside in your budget for a non hideous dial.

Welcome!

You said you wanted to buy a Rolex. If you buy a watch that is 1/2 Rolex, then you're not getting a Rolex.

Well expect the dial would last as long, but doubt if the diamonds would be the same grade and quality that Rolex uses. And again the bracelet is non genuine Rolex,so it all boils down to a frankenwatch.

The fact that the dial says only 'Swiss' in small letters at the bottom as opposed to 'Swiss Made' would suggest to me that it is not genuine.

That dial is a aftermarket one,but Rolex used just the word Swiss on many vintage watches 60s 70s and on some late 90s. If I remember swiss made came in around 1998,like I said in my first post.Watch could well be genuine but it most certainly did not start its life in that present now form.

For the money you could get a non-frankenwatch TT datejust. I'm aslo a little skeptical about the lack of information such as the model year the guy is providing.

I'm not much into the bling an ddiamonds, but if it were me, I would rather buy this: http://www.demesy.com/Merchant2/merc...y_Code=BR12-DM

And then have a custom diamond dial and bezel installed. That way, I'd know for sure its real and also still have all the original parts in case I wanted to go back or had to have it serviced.

I agree with you.
Surely the watch although is Rolex but highly modified with many aftermarket parts like bezel, dial, and even bracelet so its almost sure that RSC is going to refuse it for service so just leave the deal.

Hi Cuden,

Welcome to TRF. For that kind of money, why would anyone want to buy that awful looking thing?

If it's your first Rolex, just walk in through the portals of any AD and get the real thing!!

Good luck - JJ

Actually... some Rolex SCs will service a Frankenwatch but only after throwing out all the am parts (so you'd be out a good amount of $$$ above and beyond the cost of the service).

Good luck... and welcome

Hey, if you like that watch and it makes you feel good then go ahead and purchase it. I have an aftermarket italian jubilee band that is pure real gold and stainless steel. I am still working on the clasp but its new. The rest of my watch is genuine Rolex but its considered a frankenwatch by this forums standards but i love it! Do what makes you feel happy. There are alot of guys that walk into the AD and wind up miserable and flip them! I can't judge what caught your attention its your choice.

who guarantees that you will get what you see? Better to buy from AD instead of loosing money, No one will not do more than %20 in Ebay from the retail or current value. You can find it with same price at a grey seller in real and go to AD for test.
