Watch thieves
I came by this today and thought it was interesting. So I thought I would share. Sorry if it's been on the forum already.

I don't plan on going to Naples anytime soon, however guess if I ever do, I'll think twice before taking one of my better watches.

I wonder how many fakes the thieves end up with?

They sad Brazil. Things here are somehow different. I live in Sao Paulo. Here, they come to your car window, with a gun in his hands. Rolex here means more a brand of modern pocket watches. I use mine most of the time overseas.

Dont be too alarmed. I spent a few days in Naples last summer. My family was wearing Chanel J12, Chopard happy Diamonds, Rolex Sea Dweller and Corum Admirals Cup between us. We had no problems. Just dont be careless. We walked around the city all day. We also were not "falling down" drunk at 2:00 am either. Naples seemed as safe for wearing nice watches as any large city in america.

I'm sorry, but this is wildly inaccurate. People with visible jewelry or good handbags or electronics are regularly held at gunpoint or knifepoint in Naples, including during daytime. Italian natives will tell you the same. Read travel forums and talk to your friends and you will hear these stories over and over.
