Opinions on Marathon

I don't know why but this line of watches is intriguing. Any opinions as a beater or weekend piece?

If I wanted a weekend beater (I just like having a week beater) it would be a Marathon.

Awesome watch! I got a dead stock May 2006 contract SAR from Jim Madrid himself. IMO it can serve as both a daily and weekend watch.

X3. There's a lot of Marathon and specifically SAR love around here. I am thrilled to have one of these.

I stumbled onto Marathon a month ago, and have been debating one ever since. I want one for camping/hiking.

I saw this thread today, and two minutesago placed my order for the MSAR (diver with the maple leaf).

If I hang out on TRF any longer I will go broke.

Terrific watch, I've been noodling about buying one just for the red maple leaf dial (already have a May 2006 contract SAR). I ordered a MSAR for a friend last year, and I really like that dial!
