We went to Hong Kong during the Easter break. Following are a few photos I took - weather was excellent (by Hong Kong standards, still a fair bit of haze) on Easter Sunday and Monday, when I took the Peak night shots and Buddha shots:

Love the night shot, and excellent photos.

The last time I visited Hong Kong (being in the airport does not count) was back in 1981 with my folks.

This was the firs time I saw a nice F1 gas powered radio controlled model. Back then, the modeler was using a car battery on a luggage stroller as a way to turn the crank on these puppies.

Nice photos! You are quite lucky to get such clear shots. I have been here since the mid-90s and the air quality certainly has deteriorated over the years. Nowadays, the best time to have clear skies is after a rainstorm when all those dirty particles are "washed" away.

Thanks. You're very correct that it's difficult to find a day that's clear.
I was in HK for 1 week and watched the weather every day. Only Easter Sunday was clear/sunny and I went up to the Peak for these shots. It was full of people and I had to squeeze in between many other mainland tourists to get a spot, even to that my pictures showed a lot of people's hands waving their cameras and of course those are out-takes.
Incidentally I asked a couple of my old friends who are also into photography and they said that the clearest days they had in recent years were in Oct 2008. Apparently after the Oct 1 holidays in 2008, due to the GFC, the factories in Guangdong didn't resume production for like 2-3 weeks. And my friends commented that during this period the sky was clear and they were able to take excellent night shots.

Well, yes.
1. bought a Nikon 24-70 lens, nearly pulled the trigger on a Zeiss 21mm F/2.8 but they only offered HK warranty...
2. bought a bunch of tailored shirts and trousers
3. bought a few Lalique crystals
4. bought a couple handbags for the wifey
5. ate a lot of food one can't get in Melbourne e.g. roasted goose - yummy!
6. bought like 50 rolls of film/negatives - only costs A$2 each - it's a bargain.

Did not get any watches. I believe TRF prices are better than HK prices.

Thanks Marc, we stayed at a hotel in TsimShaTsui East and the walking between MTR station and the hotel took like 15 min each way. So, apart from the walking, it was most enjoyable, suffix to say that I was born in HK, lived there for 18 years so it's my 2nd home.

Thanks David, yes I did eat a lot there. Apart from that Michelin 1 star dim sum place (which is cheap and service is nasty, food wise similar to Luk Yu), we visited a number of my favorites - Luk Yu tea house for dim sums and tea, Yung Kee restaurant for preserved egg and roasted goose, Tai Chong for custard egg tarts, Jimmy's Kitchen for steak, Pak Lok for Chiu Chou oyster egg omelette, and in between also ate a few Xiao Lun Bao, sushi, sashimi, etc.

Great pic's Kai, I normalyl run between offices either side of the Exhibition/Convention Centre when I am in HK. I really enjoy my time when I am there. And getting about is so easy and cheap. Cheers Jules
