FS: Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra 2518.30 -- Near Mint -- Priced to Sell
For sale is my Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra 2518.30.00 with Silver Dial and in “Near Mint” 93% condition on the TZ scale.
![]() This is the 36.2mm quartz powered AquaTerra, and shortly after acquiring it, I posted a detailed review writeup here: Enjoy! ![]() I had wanted something simple and conservative, for wearing to work with “business casual” type dress. Something quiet and classy, competent but not showy, that would be a carefree piece to pick up on a Monday morning and put on without having to “futz” with it after it sat around all weekend. That meant quartz, for accuracy and total ease of use. The Omega quartz AquaTerra fits the bill, and it’s a surprisingly nice watch. Classy, crisp, and clean. I also appreciate its independently settable hour hand – perfect for traveling between time zones without having to hack the watch to correct the hour. ![]() The size and design are classic and very well proportioned. It just looks “right” in a way few watches achieve. The sapphire crystal (antireflective on the inside) is very mildly domed, with an almost perfectly flush mounted edge. Beautiful looking and very touchable. Really helps “make” the watch. ![]() The dial has a matte finish and sunburst effect that is radiant and attractive, without being shouty. The polished hands and applied markers have an appealing, intricately beveled effect, the Omega logo is applied as well, and the date window has a nicely beveled edge too. The aesthetics of this watch are tastefully simple, and the legibility is excellent. ![]() The bracelet is really great – oval links, in an “oystery” style, without being a slavish oyster copy. One of the best bracelets I’ve come across on any watch of any price. A couple things I realize that make me like the Aqua Terra’s bracelet so much. First, the oyster-style links – that are smaller in length than the links on a Rolex oyster, and pleasantly oval shaped, -- they wrap around your wrist like fabric. Second, and most notable, is the way the links ride on top of, and hide, the clasp blades and go all the way around to a very small, centered, integrated latch, instead of to a longer separate clasp like Rolex and most other bracelets. Makes the Omega bracelet look and feel totally continuous all the way around the wrist. Not just is it aesthetically pleasing, it’s super comfortable. Well done, Omega. ![]() ![]() The Aqua Terra has a screw-down crown and 150m / 500ft water resistance rating, so it’s a fully legitmate ocean-going member of the Seamaster family. The crown is generously sized, smooth as butter, and a pleasure to unscrew & operate. And, it’s engraved with the Omega logo to boot. Nice. ![]() Gotta like that traditional and detailed "Seamaster" intricately engraved into the caseback: ![]() Anyway, this turned out to be a good everyday wearing-to-work watch for me. Not overly dressy, not overly sporty. A subtle and appropriate size. The grab-n-go convenience of quartz. It presents a gracious and high-quality visual image, but without boasting, and as such it’s a perfect match for dress-shirt and dress-pants business wear. ![]() I enjoyed the watch and carefully wore it for several weeks to my indoor, desk job. But as we all know in this hobby, after a brief infatuation period, my interest shifted to other pieces, and the watch lately has just not been worn. Someone should be out there enjoying this fine piece! Aggressively priced at $890, including two-day express U.S. shipping. For international shipping, please inquire. The watch is sized for a 7.25 inch wrist and comes with all extra links, pins, & tubes for a full-length bracelet. Also comes with a red leather Omega box and white cardboard outer box (that show slight shelf wear), and the Omega instruction book. Sorry, no cards, but the price reflects this. Payment will be via PayPal “Gift”. Not interested in any trades, please. U.S. transactions only, unless you have a strong track record and references. To contact me, please send a PM, or email me at avusblue [at] yahoo [dot] com. Please be patient, as I cannot respond to that email during working hours. Feel free to send me your number so we can speak by phone. As for my credentials, I have all-perfect references from numerous other watch purchase and sale transactions on TimeZone (as member "skate68"), WatchUSeek (as "avusblue"), and RolexForums (as "avusblue"), as well as over 540 all-positive feedbacks from that well-known internet auction site (as “avusblue”), many of which were from high-end watch transactions. Best regards, and thanks for looking, Dave Saint Paul, Minnesota Final glamour shot, courtesy of Omega: ![]() |
