Trying to buy a vintage
Hi all,
I am new to the forum, but have been searching for a while for a good vintage Rolex. I have found one I like on the internet, but not sure how I can tell if its real or not. I have attached two photos. I am worried about the serial number, the engraving does not look right. Also, this is meant to be a 1965, but is this serial number not later? Also, I was worried about the crown on the face. The placement looks a little out. Any help you could offer would be appreciated. Also, it comes with no papers. I am new to this, please be kind. |

I would pass on this one, case is pitted, serial #seems to be re engraved.
#6 marker has spots, dial looks to be refinished. |

Serial number
Why would someone go to the bother of re-engraving the serial number, especially since it does not even look good.
If you do not think its a good one, I will probably pass, better holding out for a good one. Thanks. |

As highlighted, the Coronet seems high and the dial refinished. In the second picture the left hand lug area doesn't look good to me.
