Saw new PO/8500

Went into an Omega boutique yesterday to check out Omega offerings, and man was I impressed with the new PO w/ 8500 movement. The new exhibition back and the super luminova on the date wheel is AWESOME. They even had a woman's version my wife was drooling over. Great stuff.

That being said, with a $6100 sticker price, I'd still lean toward Rolex at that price. Very well done though.

Yeah! It was pretty glorious. Never seen that before, and for added flare, it is a different color lume then the rest of dial/hands, so it contrasts. Pretty cool!

YES! Well done! My wife is in love. I've never seen her eyes light up like that before about a watch.

Isn't the lady's version date hole a bit too inside?? It looks off, esp. when the "3 oclock" marker is so short. I bet you that this is done because it uses the lady's automatic movement and thus the date wheel is too small for the big watch. Damn Omega for always cutting corners in their design! Same crap with the 34mm Omega Ladyomatic where the date hole is just like that above because it uses the 26mm movement.

Awesome watch. I saw the titanium PO at the NYC omega boutique. The saleman said that no one knew the release date yet and that the one there was the only one in the US. From what I remember the sticker said $8200 retail.

Movement 8500 is great, but $6100 is overpriced.

Is it though? After trying it on for myself yesterday, I honestly believe it's a superior watch to the Sub-C. Cal. 8500 blows anything Rolex, or anyone else short of the ultra-high end brands has to offer out of the water too. It might well be the luxury watch bargain of the century!
