Problem with my sub 16610
My brothers sub doesn't feel right. When you shake it or move it, you can feel the insides moving like something is out of place. Just like a fake rolex would feel when you slap it against your palm.
I took it to a local jeweler for a service, he took it apart and put it back together and said it didn't need a service it was too new. He just polished it real nice. Unfortunately I didn't pick it up my friend did and he didn't know what the initial problem was. M serial. Any idea what it is. This is used as an everyday beater watch. However after this polish, the thing looks brand new. Just the fact that you can feel the movement is unbearable. Your help and advice is appreciated.

Cannot understand how you could possible feel the movement, perhaps hear the winding rotor pendulum swinging. And no watch needs like you say to be slapped against your palm. Its possible you have a problem with the winding rotor shaft bearing but you say a local jeweller/watchmaker said it did not need a service. And I have no idea how a fake or genuine Rolex would sound when you slap it against any palm.

Inside moving? you maybe refer to the weight which winds the mainspring?

I currently have 5 subs. This is the only one that has this issue. The easiest way to describe this is if you shake the watch, you will fell the inside vibrating. If you ever see a fake rolex with automatic movement, grab it with your right hand and hit it twice against your left palm, you will feel the mechanisms on the inside "shake". That's what I feel. You can literally feel the inside of the watch moving/shaking.

The reason it's vibrating is the rotor has no or not enough lubrication on it. It is chattering on the jewels it's needs to be serviced and properly lubed. Age of the watch is immaterial I've seen 2 year old watches where the axle was turned to metal dust because of improper lube, the watch should make no vibrations if properly serviced. Rikki

I took it to another jeweler and that's exactly what he said afterbhe took it apart. The rotor is no good anymore. He was very very surprised to see it worn down so bad on a 2007 watch, and he said who ever wore it was has never dropped but is very very active. Which is true, for the last 4 years my brother had never taken it off his wrist.
