Newbie with a few questions
Hello all! I currently do not own a Rolex but plan to start shopping for my first one after the holidays and had a few questions. I am interested in the submariner date stainless steel i have a budget of $5000 to $6000 would a sub be within my budget? I did a search for authorized dealers and i do have one near my home, and 2 more each a little over an hour from me is it worth going to the other dealers to compare prices or are the prices pretty cut and dry?

You could get a used Sub with that budget.
Look at the classified section on this site and get a flavor for prices. Generally you will over pay at an AD when buying used. |

Hey Chris, Welcome to the forum. I just looked at a Green Submariner, new, with no discount at an AD and I want to say the price was $8400.00 (don't quote me on that, I was drooling on the watch on my wrist.)
What you need to do is shop some of the reputable sellers here. Mosco has been around forever and there are some others, that will give you a great price on a stainless Submariner or GMT. Just EDIT YOUR POST PLEASE and don't tell them you have that much to spend. Hehehehehe. The watch always costs as much as you have. Seriously, you have enough. You can also look at the old Sea Dwellers. Most AD's (if you spend time getting to know them) will give you a discount, especially this time of year.

You can buy the non ceramic version SS sub now with funds to spare. If you want the ceramic version SS sub then you are close. Go try both on and decide. Good luck with your search. Let us know what you decide.

Welcome to the forum. I would also recommend buying from the guys here. I got a hulk a few months back (slightly used) from Oscar and couldn't be happier. Good group of guys here and they'll treat you right. Happy hunting!
