Deep Blue DayNight T100

Anyone own one? Trying to decide on a new beater and this one is in the running, like to hear people's thoughts... I love the styling, just want to make sure it holds up and keeps good time over the long haul.

wantonebad, I have had several Deep Blue watches and liked them all. They are a great value, I think. I bought all of mine from shopNBC on special offers. I have now sold the watches not because I did not like them, but because other watches came along that I liked better.

I have had both the T25 and T100 models and both show well in the dark. For the money, you can't go wrong. However, remember, they are big and heavy watches when worn on a bracelet. Here is the last one I had. Cheers, Bill P.

Yeah the Tritium Flat tubes are impressive and I love the contrast they have with the Superluminova Bezel. The lume is the main reason I'm thinking about this watch. They other potential is a Lum-Tec but I like the styling on these watches better.

wantonebad, have you considered a Marathon TSAR? I have one in my collection and really like it. Marathon makes both automatic and quartz models of the SAR. My TSAR is quartz. It is a tank and I really like it. Cheers, Bill P.

DB make some amazing vfm pieces.
The spec for the $ ratio is off the scale IMHO.

I purchased a Sun Diver 1000m with the blue sunburst dial a few months ago.I wanted to see what the quality was like for one of their lower end pieces. It has the basic but reliable Miyoya 8205.

Photo from www.

Sun Divers are not ISO rated and use an off the shelf case, neither of which concerned me at this price point.

They are very nicely finished for the $ and have a hefty, solid build about them. The bracelet uses screws (not pins and collars) which i just don't expect at this price.Lume is literally Seiko Diver rivaling!

It is running at a consistent -8spd and i am more than happy with that.

One thing i would mention is if you like aftermarket straps. Some of the DBs have unusual end links (Sun Diver is one of them) making it difficult if not impossible to Nato/leather.Again it was not an issue for me.I ordered DB's rubber strap accessory which again, is nicely finished for the price.I could not be bothered to track down an aftermarket rubber as DB's was so well priced.
It looks like your DayNight has a normal end link.

Indeed all their accessories seem very well priced including Pelican Cases etc...They have some fun stuff on their accessories page, check it out!

In summary DB is all about the vfm and IMO you will not be disappointed !

@Gaopa:

Congrats Sir, I love the SAR's!
You have a fine collection of pieces i see from the recent GMT thread !

Just a little update, I was unsuccessful sourcing a used DayNight as the sellers all wanted a premium price based on availability, I wasn't willing to go there. However I've just received word that Deep Blue will have the DayNight and the Master Explorer back in stock in July, so I'm looking forward to seeing the 2012 version. I'm going to purchase it as soon as I am able and i will post pictures when she arrives!

In march I was searching for tritium watch much like you. I purchased both a deep blue trtium (t100)and a Prometheus baiji. The fit and finish, especially the bracelet, was far better on prometheus, the tritium on the Prometheus was as good or better and the price point was lower for Prometheus also. Something to consider.

You very well maybe right, however styling either speaks to you or it doesn't and the Prometheus is not my cup of tea. Thanks for the info though!

I've got a Deep Blue Master 2000 and for the money ($425) it's an incredible piece, ETA 2824, beautiful blue bezel, etc.

Cheers,
