Borrowing some gold

A friend of mine lent me his YG DD the other day thinking that I wouldn't really wear an all gold watch. 3 days later, he's still wrong.

I've really enjoyed it, even though it's between 3-4mm smaller than the rest of my collection. It's hard to believe the dial is only 1mm bigger than my wife's midsize YM. I guess it's the case and gold heft that gives it the wrist presence.

I'm not sure exactly which model it is. It seems to be a quickset date but not day. Definitely hollow links. Tritium dial (not the original that came w/ the watch) that I believe is a real Rolex manufactured dial.

In any event, I think I could see myself wearing a DD now. I would probably like a silver dial or possibly even gold as this black is a little much for me. At one point I thought the RG DD was for me, but my Irish pasty white skin clashed with the color too much IMO.

Cheers!

Nice Friend.

Are you sure he isn't a secret member of the TRF enablers club.

Fan-freaking-tastic!! Especially that first image. I absolutely love my YG DDII with champagne (gold) dial. If you go DD, you may never want anything else on your wrist! If you're considering a black dial, I humbly suggest black with Romans as they are golden and really create a lovely contrast and an arresting dial. If you're thinking silver dial, diamond markers give it quite a lovely look and the dial has a soft golden hue to it. I LOVE my champagne dial with golden Romans, I don't think you could go wrong there with either DD or DDII. Other dial choices in the DD that I find fascinating are the tapestry and 'rolex word' dials.
Good luck, I love the watch on you, and like I've said many times, it's hard to put anything else on after your President!!

I don't think you make up your mind on such a monumental decision like that in just two or three days. I think you better tell him you're gonnna need more time. A lot more time. Like weeks, or months. Maybe longer.

I always said I could never wear a gold watch and then I wore my brothers for an evening, then the next day and I was sold! Got mine soon after!
