Mr. Ridley has done it again!
Hello friends.
Mr. Ridley and his trusty sidekick Barbara Piazza have returned my 5512 sub from the Arlington, Texas Spa, Watchmakers International. I am ecstatic with Bob's work. Some of you may remember that I purchased this watch nearly 40 years ago. This service is its first! Bob sent some pictures, and I've included a wrist shot with NATO strap. Thanks to those of you who recommended Bob and Barbara. They are both wonderful folks. I'd also like to thank Frogman4me (David) for helping me wait patiently. |

Thank you all for your kind comments. It really does make me feel GOOD! I'm sorry to say, I have no before pictures. Bob replaced the plexi, and the crown and tube. He sealed the hands, but there's no visual change that I can see. Of course he also brought the movement back to life. Naturally he did no polishing. If I had not been lucky enough to find this forum, there's a very good chance I would have sent my watch to a RSC somewhere. I know now, that would have been a very bad choice.

Beautiful, noble. Wear it proudly, fellow 5512 owner.
What do you mean by sealing the hands? |

Bob applies an acrylic sealant to the backs of the hands. This apparently slows down the deterioration of the lume on the face of the hands. That's the way I understand it, anyway. Not cheap though. $85.
