Which RSC is best?
So I got a WG Daytona (116509) yesterday, and, within four hours of having it, I dropped it! I've been sick to my stomach ever since. Luckily there are only scratches on the bracelet and the clasp in the back. The scratches, although not deep, are many in numbers, and bother me to no end. So now, I have two logical choices, either send it into the RSC in Dallas (via the local AD, where I did not buy my watch) or visit the RSC in SF, which I was told was not really an authorized RSC. I think the bracelet might need refinishing, as there are so many scratches, or it might just need a good buffing because I'm being a drama queen about the issue. Has anyone had any experience with either RSC in terms of having to remove scratches?

Only scratches? Just wear it! They will "disappear" in a few days. Congrats on the new watch!

luckily yes, but some scratches are a little deeper than others. The face is unscathed with minor scratches on the back side of the case.. and thank you! I was absolutely ecstatic when got it =) before I dropped it

Take the advice and wear the watch, in a few weeks all the scratches will be blended together in complete harmony

I feel your pain
Buy a Cape Code cloth and polish the PCL's yourself, after carefully taping them off, and you will be good to go |

Yeah, I wouldn't ship it off to get fixed for that level of scratching.

I have been surprised by how well the Cape Cod cloths work. They aren't magic, but I think you'll be well served by them. They smell good too. My G.O. polished bracelet is an absolute scratch magnet nightmare. Cape Cod works wonder for a couple bucks and a few minutes.

Not worth getting it refinished in my opinion.

Any decent Jeweler can remove the scratches if they bother you so much.. The RSC will not usually refinish bracelets except during a full service as it removes metal and reduces it's life by a bit..
As to the San Fran RSC, yes, it is an "Official, Authorised RSC". Anybody who says different is just wrong.. The difference with it is that it is not Rolex owned. Some believe that is a good thing..

The scratches seems to be minor, nothing that you would not acquire with regular wearing. I would not do anything but that's just me.

Sorry to hear about your incident-I think it would drive me crazy too. That said, I would wear it as is. Maybe it's the pics, but as others have already stated the scratches don't appear to be too bad. Or if it really bothers you, some careful work with a cape cod will make those PCLs look new again.
Btw, the watch looks great on your wrist!! Congrats.

I would not be worried about those scratches. I would get a cape cod and touch it up and when it goes for service next time it will get taken care of. At amount of scratches can happen from any number of normal day to day operation in my opinion.

If you send it in for a polish it'll only get scratched again in a matter of weeks , i smacked my DSSD on a glass cabinet days after buying it BNIB but soon got over it, difficult but don't let it bother you, wear it well & enjoy

IMO those scratches are pretty minor, what you'd expect from a few weeks of normal wear. Doesn't appear to be any 'gouges', but I am a little surprised they were as a result of only one drop? There seems to be many fine scratches ....

I might be going against the trend here, but IMO thats a fair amount of scratches.
I would want it polished, especially as the scratches were as result of an accident rather than normal wear.

Leave it alone or get some Cape Cod. No reason to send it off for a few scratches even if you were to have it fully serviced which it doesn't need.
