Usually stick to OEM Rolex parts but

I must say I'm really liking this aftermarket bezel.

It doesn't really look aftermarket at all - nice mod!

I like that look! And goes well with the strap and sub-dials.

Very nice indeed!

May I ask where you got it? And does it fit on SS Daytona?

Thanks
Tom

I think insert is as far as I would go aftermarket ---- but when it comes time to sell, I will let the buyer know it is aftermarket and provide the original one. But it is fun to play with different colors and combos that aftermarket pieces do provide at such minimal cost.

I hope we do not get a warning from the mods. discussing aftermarket parts?

Thanks for all the good feedback

Sure thing--I bought it on ebay. If you search "bakelite" and "bezel" you will see it. They also make one with SS trim for the SS Daytona (also a smaller sized one with gold trim for those blessed few who have the 6263 vintage gold PN!)

You might also take a look at the SS custom made pieces by DHH here on the forum as part of his Daytona Heritage Project. They are top quality but I don't know if he is still making/selling new ones.

Hope this helps!

Aftermarket, no problem. Fake, big problems.
This mod was not made to deceive, done by the owner of the watch, so no harm, no foul.

My inspiration was actually the look of the vintage gold PNs. I prefer the "thinner" appearance of the vintage original bezels (with the black insert bracketed by the gold color metal) to the modern ceramics that have the black all in once piece. Hope this makes sense

One last question: How did you remove the original bezel!

Best

With a watchmaker I definitely don't have the skills to mess with my watch!

Not too sure about that.

Wondering how long before someone's asks... Is that a ceramic Daytona?
