Dark Side of The Moon

Anyone getting one? Regarding bracelet replacement after long term wear, would that be something a boutique could acquire?

I really like this watch.

I think I would add the Leather strap from this Speedmaster, this would make a perfect looking watch in my eyes

A tan croc strap with black stitch would also look great.

Does the second hand continually tick, or like the Daytona only when a button is depressed? I enjoy the sweep of the second hand and really don't want to have to activate it, and take away from my reserve power.

Thanks

If it is like my PO chrono, the second hand constantly sweeps in it's sub-dial. The big second hand only sweeps when the chrono is activated.

I wasn't sure either about not having a big sweep hand. After a day on the wrist, it didn't bother me... too nice of a watch to let one negative win out... I really like the dark side...

Is it bad to have the big hand activated at all times while wearing, besides taking away from the reserve power? I spoke to a trusted horology buddy and he told me to get a hands on and study before I make my final decision. I really like the look of the watch and want something low key for law school, class days. Also, my first luxe watch was an Omega and it would be nice to have one again, added to my growing collection (diversity doesn't hurt either).

Thanks for your help on this!!!!

I just park my chrono second hand at 37 minutes as to not obstruct the dial top. But I have three sub dials. I don't run mine at all. I prefer the chrono to the non-chrono as the dial is balanced better like the 14060. I Also don't notice the hand "parked" either. It is such a nice dial I just overlook it. As for under the radar, your 14060 should be fine. Wear it on a NATO like you used to. With the national campaign on television and print with Omega, I believe they will be mainstream like Rolex anyway in time. I prefer the brand over Rolex regardless. It sure is a good looking watch though...

I too love the sweeping seconds hand and cannot stand two handed watches(hours/minutes only)....until I went into a Panerai boutique on a whim.
I´m not really a Pam guy but am intrigued by their simple and utalitarian dials.
After looking at a model that had a small seconds sub dial at 9 olock I began to appreciate this detail a little more.
This Dark Side Omega is a hot catch and I think you should reserve definitive judgement until you have a hands on. You could even do some reconning and at least go to an Omega boutique and take a look at the 9300 chronos to get a sense of what you're in for....as it relates to the dial layout.

Omega is very fast on availabity of new watches so I wouldn't doubt that this one is available in a few weeks.
This is another amazing watch by Omega, good luck.

The NATO is always a great fall back option, especially for those library days (sigh).

I will most def take a trip to see it in person as I am blown away by the pics. The purchase wont come till next year as I will be traveling for work and all the good watches will be sitting in a bank security box. This way when I get back there should be a good number available, and possibly even some used.

Just read that they will only manufacture 3,000 of these watches a year due to the lengthy production process.

A watch technician on another forum described how there is no difference in power reserve with or without the chrono running. He then provided a bunch of test data where he timed it out with and without the chrono engaged. This was with one of the 9300 movement watches.

Some people use the chrono as a 2nd time zone, where the 3 o'clock subdial is the hours/minutes and the large hand is the sweeping seconds hand. I've never done it, but may have to try it sometime

Really wish the "Speedmaster" and the tip on the chrono counter were in orange rather than red. The text looks really muddy to me, and red on black is a bad combo in general, aesthetically speaking. Have you ever seen a good website that had red text on a black background? I look down at my PO 9300 and can't help but feel orange would've really looked beautiful on this otherwise beautiful watch.

I really like this watch.
This one slipped under the radar for me with the Batman GMT and THC blue getting all my attention.

What a great looking watch. I like the nylon strap too, myself.

Here is a little help for sizing!

Im eagerly awaiting for the dark side of the moon Omega!

Imho, this will be the BEST watch anywhere for the money(w/reasonable discount from msrp) -
I cant think of any other watch below the 10k range that I like better - PERIOD!!!!
Having said that, I would not recommend an all black watch as your one and only - I would choose the steel one instead!

Your BMW is lovely, and it would be a perfect match. I heard 44mm for the watch.

Great advice. This wouldn't be my only piece, but the one I would consider the "sportiest" out of two Subs and a Pepsi GMT. This would be my ultimate casual watch when I wanted to go under the radar. All I need is a DateJust to round out the dress watch department and I'm set till my grail (a DD 1).
