Green vs Blue
Hi everyone,
If there is a price difference of almost 1500 usd, would you still consider the new Blue GMT Master versus the Original version? I can get a good discount on the original version but I have to pay full list price for the new 'Blue'. Given both watches are exactly the same except the bezel color. Whats your opinion? Thanks BaBa |

Wait for the blue to come down on the grey market.

I've not seen the the BLNR in the flesh yet but it's really fairly straightforward. Like you said, they are the same watch. So if you like the new one more than the black one enough to pay an additional $1,500 then go for it.
If I was going to pay an additional $1,500+... I'd get the 116713.

I'm a big fan of the black bezel. The blue is just the latest and greatest so there's gonna be people scrambling to be the first ones to have. Black is classic, goes with everything and will never go out of style! But to each his own. Just my opinion not saying its the right one! Haha!

I'd spend money on the one you like best. The batman is a better buy IMO

I've always liked blue color but in this case. Love the green hate the blue.

Just curious, the BLNR has a $500 higher msrp and no discount while the black one is $1,000 off. How is the BLNR a better buy in this situation?

The blue is just new and every body wants to keep up with the "Joneses", to include me, as I considered selling my stickered unworn GMT2C, but then I think and pay an extra $1-2K!? Nope, it's not worth it. At equal price, maybe just maybe, but the black still has the edge for me with it's conservative green detailing gives it a limited edition look. The blue combo though attractive leaves me a little cold, can't put my finger on it. It's a great choice to make for a first time Rolex/GMT owner or someone who favors blue the choice is easy and the premium at this time worth it. |

If you like the blue / black, the prices will eventually even out with the original.
Depends on how bad you want one right now.. |

whether or not it actually costs more to produce the two-color insert, rolex will charge more because it can (see the LVs vs LN Submariner), so, there will always be a difference in price. if you can wait for the difference to narrow, do that, or just bite the bullet. at these prices, i don't think an extra 1,000 should stand in the way of what you want.

Since when is buying Rolex all about price? Buy the one you like, don't buy the discount.
New BLNR is great, loving mine. |

The new day/night is nice but I personally would not pay a premium for it. My guess is that the price will start to slip in a few months, so best to wait.
On the other hand, the green version with the all-black bezel can be bought at a discount, which makes it good value for money. I would go for this one! |

In other words, the price difference is worth it if blue is your first preference. |

Most AD's who went to Basel got one each (1 only), the rest of the AD's will get one by September. Too new for a discount - all AD's have a few souls that will pay FULL retail in order to be the first in their block wearing one. Later - It might be possible to just buy the blue/black bezel part and interchange |

To me this is a tough question, I love both versions but in all honesty I think I prefer the black bezel (to be fair I haven't seen the BLNR in person). HOWEVER, I'm not a huge fan of the green so what I've thought about doing is buy the BLNR, and eventually try to source a black bezel to have the option of swapping back and forth between the 2. So in conclusion, I'd buy the new Blue/Black version. |

I was at Tourneu in King of Prussia last night and the salesman said they have "twelve names on a waiting list" for the BLNR. Maybe he means 12 dudes that want to look at it.

I think it depends on your collection. I have a 11610 subc black conservative Rolex already that I wear. I don't feel there is enough of a difference in looks to buy a black/green GMT. The BLNR on the other hand, looks different enough from my sub c and stands out a little as unique. Just my 2 cents!

I go in there all the time to look and try on, but they tell me all the time that they give no discounts on Rolex. So I tell them you get none of my watch money!
