Dear members,
I`m buying a Rolex 16610lv and cant decide if I should go for the newer one(RRR) 2008 or Mark II, 2004

...what you say and why do you think this or that, any input is welcome.
BTW, the price is the same and both come with box and paper.

what ever one is in better shape. The only ones that might be collectable are the Y and early F's with the flat 4 bezel.

Well, Rolex doesn't make watches by model year so I would want to know more before I made my decision.. But I would likely agree with the above.. for the same price the one in the best condition is the better buy..

I agree, condition! I personally like the engraved rehaut of the later years. Buy the best one, and the one that sings to you.

Condition, Condition...mine is a 2005 "D" minty with all paperwork, boxes, hangtags etc....

I prefer the engraved rehaut. Collectability wise a flat 4 Y or F if you can get one.

Condition and please also note the bezel green colour has different shades ( check forums here for info on different green shades ) I personally prefer the darker shiny green bezel than the lighter flat green bezel - yes there are different colour green bezels!

I always thought this had to do with the age of the watch, that it got lighter with time, you mean thats not the case?
Anyway...if I buy a flat four, mark I and need to buy a new bezel, will Rolex replace it with one like that?
You are right about looking at the condition, I´ll look in to it...

Well who knows perhaps Rolex will introduce the so called flat 4 font in replacement inserts again.After all in the same time frame all the Subs and SD plus others were using the same so called flat four font. Just like they have used the same flat four font many many times through the decades of Rolex sports watches.

What would you go for if you have a M-V serial that is for sale at 7325$ and a flat four early F serial for 8138$ both complete...price seems fair? Thanks for your time and advice guys!

At those prices I would go for the M or the V. Especially if you are planning on wearing it and not making it a safe queen.

Has the F serial been serviced recently? If not, it will be due shortly....so you need to account for that in your purchase price. A typical service will cost you $350 to $700 depending where you send it.
