114270 or 14060?

Hi.

Min currently own a Sub 14060 and love it. However, there is an Explorer 114270 available out there, and that's always been a favorite if mine. Although I aim on building a collection some day, right now the only way I could acquire the 114270 would be via trade.

Tell me - would you do it?

Trade this:

For this:

Little help here people...

Nope, I'd never get rid of your two liner. I want an Explorer also but will not part with my Sub to get one. I'd keep the Sub and save to the Explorer.

No, I would not make that trade. Save for it and one will be available for a better price in the near future.

Hang on to the Sub, I am so happy to have the same model. You'll figure out a way to get the Explorer.

I would NOT do the trade if I was you. Best to wait until you can purchase the Exp.

Eddie, I think we're seeing a pattern here! To most people, even among the more experienced and high inventory Rolex aficionados, your model is a keeper. So keep this:

As a Red Sox fan living in New Jersey, I can see how hard it may be to make such an obvious good choice ;)

I have both watches and I would keep the 14060 and save some $ and buy an Explorer. They are very different watches.

I agree with all the others - keep the Sub and save for the Expy I - and this is coming from someone who bought the 114270 as his first Rolex and has yet to get a Sub - but that is next.

I wanted the 14060 but "settled" for the 114270 because I wanted a Rolex but couldn't wrap my head around 5k for a watch - got the 114270 for around 3k. BTW, I have lost that particular reluctance since then...

To me the 14060 is the classic among all classic Rolexes. It's on the short list of the perfect one-Rolex collection and no collection is complete without one.

Keep it.

Keep it would never even dream of the trade. The sub is my fave model of all my watches across all the brands I own.

Stay Sub, Explore later.... Save for it and enjoy relishing it while you take your time. Read about it, collect pix, dream and check it out on the net. Perhaps after Christmas you will find a deal on one. Usually more inventory after a the big gift giving holiday.
