Thanks all!
I stopped at a local omega AD today to see if they could resize the original bracelet for me... unfortunately my small wrists made it an impossibility... Does anyone know if permanent links can be taken out of these old steel bracelets? I have no problems sporting the nato for now though! I took some fun shots of it next to a new one. Gotta love the old dial! But of course they are all beautiful!

Love the transitionals and the applied logo. I purchased what I thought was a 68 transitional but turned out to be a 67 .012. It's getting serviced right now so I can hardly contain myself waiting for it. Yours looks great! I'm considering a hirsch Medici with a deployment. Have you thought about anything like that?

Beautiful Speedy, Greg, congrats
Can I ask the more experience collectors here what the market value is for these models? A local seller has one--all original except the hands, which are newer Omega replaced hands. His also has the applied logo dial. He's asking $3000. The watch is in very good condition, but 3k seems high. But to be honest, I'm not entirely sure what the FMV for these is. |

Thanks all for your compliments on the watch. I have to say I am super happy I got this and highly recommend a transitional to any who might be considering one!
Pete, make sure to send photos when you get it back! Btw... does anyone know if the vintage rolex service guys (Namely, Bob Ridley and Rikki) service these as well?

Have had an overhaul done on a 1969 cal. 861 by ABC Watchwerks in LA. Dalton and Alex do some outstanding work. Lots of info on them on the forum.

Another nod to ABC Watchwerks. Took my Speedmaster Date there for a service and bezel change - quick job, yet very well done by Dalton.

For those who have used ABC watchwerks.. whats the typical turn around time?
Does anyone know if one can remove permanent links from these old bracelets? Thanks all!

Not sure about the permanent links question, but I would reach out to Dalton to get some answers to your questions. Last time I dropped off the watch (I'm already in the LA area like they are), it took 1-2 weeks for the work to get done, which I thought was reasonable. Best of luck. |
