Maybe your sister should have someone else buy her a Rolex?

To the OP, I would get off eBay ASAP, and get with a trusted TRF seller and discuss your sister's desires. You are going nowhere fast IMHO. Good luck.

I dont think he meant it that way, we are just sick and tired of all these ebay scumbags taking advantage of everybody.
Buy a watch from this forum, it is your safest bet ANYWHERE on the net.

No sarcasm intended by me, anyway. I thought you were still in the hunt for a watch for your sister based on your previous posts. I still recommend getting with a trusted seller to find what you need. Good luck.

I don't think it's solely a problem of looking on eBay.

I think the issue is finding a reliable seller on eBay that regularly sells quality timepieces...Not trying to find a too-good-to-be-true deal from a seller with questionable positive feedbacks for items that are NOT watches.

If you're purchasing a Rolex, you have to be prepared to lay out THOUSANDS of dollars, not HUNDREDS. I would rather pay ~$3,000 for a real ladies Rolex than pay less than $1,000 for a replica.

thank you for clearing things up . i am still looking for a watch for my sister , but unless i find an outstanding yellow gold datejust that she really likes , she has her heart set on a yellow gold day date .
here is my issue and the reason for a lot of tension i think :
1- her budget is of 8,000 tops
2-she wants a diamond bezel
3- she has a diamond dial in mind that she wants whether it comes on the watch or not , she will have put on .

now the issue is most sellers on here will have such a watch for more than her budget if all original . that is the reason why i am not minding an aftermarket bracelet too much just to stay within budget . also the reason i am looking on ebay is because i had a good experience buying from becker time and hoping to have luck in the last remaining transaction .

so to sum things up . i am posting many of the watches i find on ebay in this section to flag them and hopefully learn how to sport a fake myself . or one i am interested in to avoid headaches . not every one i post i m trying to buy unless one of the two aforementioned.

I think your desire to learn more about the brand is commendable, however, you have to understand that this is not a shopping service and this is your 11th thread now along the lines of "is this one real?"

Plenty of people have said that a Trusted Seller is your best route and certainly a post in the Want to Buy Forum would probably bear more fruit than an endless list of similar threads.

By all means learn and ask questions but perhaps try other avenues as well towards getting your sister's dream watch?

Unless I'm horribly mistaken, you're going to be looking for a men's day date with those specifications and then frankenstein together what she wants? In that case the best thing (with that price range in mind) would be to look specifically for these model #'s maybe with a leather strap.

18038
18039
18078

To put it bluntly, it basically sounds like what's happening here is what I personally refer to as a "fantasy dreamer." She wants the look and prestige of a Rolex President without actually paying for one. I honestly think the best thing in that case would be for her to consider a different brand of watch, a ladies datejust, or keep saving to get what she wants, because it's a shame to have a genuine Rolex movement/watch case with a crazy configuration of fake band, fake dial, fake bezel, etc. etc. etc. It's like putting a crazy custom paint job and spinning rims on a Turbo R.

that sounds pretty bad , but she is not a "fantasy dreamer" , and i do not want to "Frankenstein it together " . she wants a day date with diamond bezel and a specific dial that she like ? how is that Frankensteining it together or being a day dreamer ?

Hang on a minute. Are you now introducing the OQ onto the 'wish list'?

Mate, that's an OQ with aftermarket everything. Please stay away for $6800...

I don't know, this is all over the place. An oysterquartz is something completely different. He's showing links of ladies watches, men's watches...I hope that you understand that there's a huge size difference between the men's and ladies watches??

I've only held 1 Oyster Quartz. Strange watch...Just so you understand a quartz watch wouldn't have the same automatic movement as a conventional Rolex...but from what you've been saying, none of these things really matter.

Again, sorry to be rude or mistaken, but it sounds like you just need to do a little bit more research into watches in general...If she's looking for a watch to be more of a piece of jewelry and less of a timepiece, I think she's going down the wrong road.
