Advice on this 1675
Good afternoon,
I am new to this forum and very impressed by the quality on the information found here and how enthousiastic people are ! I am starting to collect vintage rolex (see some pictures below) and I'm targeting a 1675. I've found the following one which has pro and cons Pro : - the case seems to have not been to much polished - the patina of the dial looks nice - the faded insert is original Cons: - the serial number indicates that the watch has been produced in 1966 BUT the dial seems to have been replaced (mark X / late 70's dial according to another thread). It's seem however that this is not a replacement dial - the watch is expensive (around 9000usd) relative to what I've seen on some specialized market places. What is your opinion? Would you go for it despite the non matching dial ? Thanks in advance for your inputs ! Some pictures I have taken ![]() ![]() ![]() Others ![]() ![]() |

It's a great looking watch but replacing the dial and hands does not increase it's value above that of original parts..

$9000 seems WAY to expensive. I could see if it was a gilt dial but its not.

Could it be a replacement luminova dial & hands marked "Swiss T < 25"....the plots seem really white

Great to see the pics! Thanks for posting!
$9k is way too high. Stick around the forum and learn a little about the model(s). You are doing the right thing about asking "before" you purchase! |

9K would be too high even if it had the right dial and original hands. Gorgeous insert.

According to information in another thread regarding this same watch, it is circa 1966. My previous response to the OP was the current dial is not correct for a 1966 GMT which would have originally had the Mark I dial.
$9,000 is considerably high in the USA for a 1966 GMT based on the photo of the watch. If you choose to replace the dial, expect to pay from $700 - $1200 for a dial depending on the condition and patina.

Replaced dial and hands. Honestly 5.5k would be my maximum price to pay for that..on a good day.

Bonsoir,
Price not realistic. Nice case and insert but we're missing serial and between the lugs pics. Replacement dial and hands that confirm you cannot pay 9 kusd for this. Is it from a Paris - based dealer? I've never seen realistic prices from any of them ever... Bonne recherche. |

Welcome to TRF!
Belle montre mais le prix est une belle arnaque! You should be able to find a nice 1675 on our marketplace ;) |
