When did rolex start with serti sub and GMT?

Were there any 1680/8 or 1675/8 with factory seri dials? If not, when (year or serial) for 16808 or 16758?

Earliest Serti dial 16808 i have heard of is from circa 81.
As for serti GmT I have only seen a 16718 from early 90's.
Not conclusive but that is what I can add.
Cheers

There are GMT serti with diamonds and rubies. I think the person above is not correct that they are early 90s for first serti GMT or at least there are some 16758 serti for sale online beginning around 1981. I am not claiming to be an expert I am just trying to find out the answer.

The earliest I can recall was the YG Sub in 1981.

I am currently thinking about buying my first Rolex and would like a GMT mainly for the dual time function. This is my first time on this forum and hope I can get some insight.
I found one on the internet with a ruby and diamond serti dial that I like, the same as the one in the pic but with a black bezel model # 16713. I don't know if buying a Rolex on the internet is the safe way to go. The website is TopNotchWatch.com They say they have a 14 day inspection period and if not satisfied I can return the watch for a full refund. I would like to know what questions to ask before purchasing, if anyone knows if this is a trustworthy website and how can I tell if this is a genuine serti dial and for that matter a genuine Rolex. I'm sure the only way is to get it inspected by an authorized jeweler.

Cool watches ....

This full-set 2001 bejewelled Sub has been languishing on an auction site downunder for a while now.

A good looker IMO but perhaps too flashy for hairy chested, real-man Antipodeans
