My 6024 (picture heavy)

I hope all is well guys! In a previous thread I asked TRF a few questions on a watch before acquiring it on a local auction in Stockholm. Now it is mine, and as promised in that thread I've taken a few macro pictures to show it off!

The model is a Rolex 6024, only produced in a number of 1 000 during 1952 (some sources say during one day, but I am sceptic). They all have the serial number 866 XXX. The main difference versus other models of that day is the oversized case, the 6024 measuring 36 mm in case diameter and not 34 as was standard back in the days. I've added a modern green strap to bring it a bit of a military touch. If anyone knows anything more about the 6024, please let me know!

Feeling very happy!

Thanks Gus! Reading about your favorite watch in your "public-info box" a small piece of supplementary info on my watch is that it has lugholes on the off crown side only. Don't know if that was a common feature back in the days (crazy to think that it is actually 62 years ago)!

It really looks cool, almost no wear.

I don't know anything about this specific case reference, other than it originally had a Super Oyster crown, and that it is apparently the precursor to the 36mm ref. 6424 that I own (which has no lug holes).

I had a tudor oyster that was from 1952 I believe and it only had lug holes on one side as well
