Tudor Date-Day: a valuable acquisition.

Hi everyone, been away for duty for some time, and I'm back. Met up with a friend, ended up with something special.

Tudor always intrigued me, they are rich with history, the "son" of Rolex, yet not much attention are given that they deserve. They have proven to create some very significant watches in the past, and today - to be honest, their designs excites me more than their "father".

By no means I'm generalizing, it all comes down to personal taste. I'm sure there are others who enjoys Rolex's new releases much more than I do.

Back to my story - I met a friend for coffee, and he suddenly said to me "I got a watch from a trade that I'd like to sell, perhaps you can find someone who'd be interested in it?". He then produces this Tudor Date-Day... and it instantly won me heart. Without hesitation I said "Yes, I just found someone who'll buy it - me".

I like almost everything about the watch, the dial is clean and glossy black, with arabic numbers, "ranger" styled hand, and the famed day-date bother, the date-day. Hahaha.. I just had to say that.

It somehow exhudes a "military" look with this clean dial, and I think it's great for legibility. The size and feel is just the same with it's counterpart from Rolex, except this one is in steel.

The only thing that I would change, is the length of the hands, I think it's slightly short, but others may have a different opinion on it.

For the price I got it? At $700, I think it's a no brainer.

military look about it. nice score!

I like it. It has a no-nonsense utility vibe with the bracelet (military look?). The leather band really warms it up, too.

I tried installing my oyster bracelet (an old sub one) that I have lying around, but apparently the lug holes doesn't align well so it wouldn't click.

It would've been great to be able to install it..

Great timing. I was just looking at one of these on watchfinder. I'd never seen one before so googled some pics and on leather they look amazing.

Thank you for the compliments guys - Im really enjoying it right now.

Hogwld, the lume is weak now, only the hand shines for a brief moment... Im unsure if the numbers itself is lumed or not, but I dont think so..

Absolute bargain for $700, i have a day date 94613 tu tone with fluted bezel and its one of my favorite watches.

Can i ask you what model number it is, and is it a 35mm case width.

I might have to 'try' and pick on eup for my tudor collection

cheers james

Is this an original dial?

How do I find a watch like?! This is exactly what I want. I would have settled for the new Heritage Ranger if it offered a date complication.

I know people don't like the term 'beater' but your watch, sir, is my ideal watch for travel anywhere -- functional, understated and cool all in one.
