Service Question

I have a WG Daytona and a steel Sub that need service. The local AD seems expensive and slow. There are a few local independent shops that are about the same price, maybe a little quicker turn around time. The mail order places are about half price and faster. Any opinions on which are best? BTW the watches are both working perfectly but haven't been cleaned and lubricated in about 10 years.

if it ain't broke don't fix it

if there's a local watchmaker that can service it, bring it there. if the mail order places are acceptable then send them.

although some want only rsc to work on their babies.

really is up to you.

i have a local guy in the city that does great work, he's fixed a few of my watches already.

Service Question

Check out the list of CW21 watchmakers in your area. It looks like there aren't any in Seattle.

I'd send it to Vanessa (http://www.jewelersontime.com) mention her name and TRF and you'll receive a discount or Rikki (http://timecareinc.com). Both are TRF members. Try sending them a PM.

I'm about to send several watches to Vanessa. They're all in great shape despite being 10 years and running with 4sec/day but I want a recent service history. Others may choose to wait. It's up to you.

Nesbit's Fine Watch Service has been in the Seattle area for decades and does good work.

If you are only shopping price you need to be careful. Some discount and on-line shops only disassemble to major components and sonic clean, then reassemble. It's cheap, but may not be what you want.

Proper service takes the movement down to the last screw, checks tolerance, replaces expendibles, and uses several different oils throughout.. this is expensive.

If they are working fine, why service? Just my opinion. Modern synthetic oils really last a long time. Just one opinion.

Vanessa worked on my watches while she was in Scottsdale, pleasant experience all around..

Most recently I used ABC Watchwerks and could not be happier with that choice either..

Thank you! Yes, we'll be open on Tuesday and you can just call the office girls (Virginia or Luz) and they'll tell you how to send it and stuff. (949)515-8880

Have a nice Memorial Day

Yes, it is and time consuming, too.

In my opinion I would only deal with RSC.

I didn't know you worked there? I bought and then sent in for service an Air King to you guys. Got it back in a little more than a week. Runs almost right on.

Rolex Authorized Service center for the newbies and RSC for the pro's.
I don't recommend going anywhere else as you run the risk of not having genuine Rolex parts used during service. Good luck on the servicing and as a wise man said earlier in the thread "if it ain't broke dont fix it"

Doing well Vanessa. Still healing the sick, though in clinical research now, and my little boy isn't so little anymore. He is heading to ASU for baseball camp in two weeks. We hit 105 today, it's going to be a long summer.
Now that I know you are there I won't give Kenny a hard time anymore.

Tell Kenny I'm the reason you're buying/servicing there, you'll get a better deal. ;)
