Thoughts on the Tudor Pelagos.....
It does not seem near as popular as the Black Bays and chronos.
To me it has a lot going for it. Why not as popular? What are its disadvantages? Thanks. |

For me it's the opposites, i like the pelagos more then the BB. For me the BB looks unfinished some how, cant realy explain it!

I've got both the Pelagos and black bay....I wear the Pelagos more often...and the main reason I will not own a SD4k. It has a nice clasp, 42mm, matte dial and bezel, and light weight...it just works so well.

I LOVE my Pelagos. I definitely prefer it to the BB. Titanium case/bracelet, matte dial, bezel lume, innovative clasp, HEV, perfect size...what's not to like?

I tried them both on for the first time about 2 weeks ago, the BB was tacky IMHO, the Pelagos, a sensational work of art !!!

From many other posts I've read as I've researched and considered buying one, generally cited negatives are (for better or worse):

And BTW, your quote of:"Those that want even the smallest amount of recognition or acknowledgement that it is a really cool looking watch just don't get that feedback."...that statement cracks me up. I don't buy watches for other people. I buy watches for me--if it's a beater Pelagos or a 44MM RG AP it's all the same--I love them. You know why? Because I'm a watch nut, and my purchases are not driven by "what is really cool"...simple Best... |

Love the Pelagos although I see many more BBs. Heck both are great looking watches.

I had one, wore it for three days and sold it. It was too big, too thick, and I couldn't get a comfortable fit, even with the fancy clasp. I sold it immediately, and never looked back. I love the way it looked, but hate the way it wore. It looked comically large on my wrist. I bought it before they hit the US shores, so I didn't have the opportunity to try it on before I bought it.

I like the basic design a lot (and that lume!), but it would be too big on my wrist so I never really considered it.

Pelagos is meant to be a workhorse daily wearer

I think the pelagos is stunning. I was hoping to save up for a SD C but, it going to be hard to do with this watch... On my wish list!

I think given it's intended purpose the Pelagos is the most "Tool" of tool watches.

Happy to stay with my sub but I think they look amazing. Would happily own one but are probably a big bigger than I need.

For me the inset in the Pel's dials bevel for the lumes looks too busy for my taste; I like the BB's dial significantly better.

My favorite Tudor by far and will be buying one.
I had wanted to wait until after I could see the BBB, but after doing so, it's a no brainer. I love everything that the Pelagos is. |
