Polishing cloth no longer supplied
I was told by my AD today that with the introduction of the new style boxes (the ones with the folding back panel to keep your warranty card etc) Rolex no longer supply a polishing cloth with each watch. Has anyone else been told/noticed this?

Well what fun is that? Anyone have pointers on revitalizing the cloth since we now have to hang onto them? I use mine religiously.

No more polishing cloths for those that get the new boxes. I asked my AD why, they did not have an answer for that. Rolex is a mysterious company....

The answer may be a supply chain decision. Rolex likely subcontracts the fabrication of the boxes via a spec sheet and bidding process.
The cloths are not really a box maker's natural core competency. So either the box maker or Rolex would then need to source them and mate the cloths with the box. A lot of wasted effort for something that 98% of owners never use.

Polishing cloth no longer supplied
There will be a lot of dull Rolex watches out and about.
Does anyone use that cloth? |

I use a cloth that was given to me by my AD. But for the record my 1 month old didn't have a cloth.

Presentation should be a priority at this price point. Rolex needs to improve this. If Panerai can do a pear wood box, Rolex can at least do a cherry presentation box.
The polishing cloth that comes with the Omega PO is outstanding.

It's not really a polishing cloth.. It's just a little 3 inch by 4 inch square dust cover that's tossed in on top of the watch and isn't really much good for anything ..

I actually use mine daily, I keep it on the nightstand and I rest my watch on it when I take it off at night, that's about all I've found it's good for.

It's a polishing cloth? I always thought it was a small Rolex sized blanket so you can tuck it in at night

I think that any micro fiber cloth is a better substitute for the Rolex cloth anyway

There used to be a cream colored cloth with green trim which said " Cellini" - for some reason. Was that also included?? Maybe it was my seller who would include one.

I'm sure you saved $100 by getting it for free. Nice gesture on part of the AD.

This is great news for me b/c I have a bunch of them.
Now I can sell on the secondary market. It will read something like this: RARE Rolex discontinued polish cloth priced to sell at only $500 |

I have not received one with my last two purchases, DJ II & EXP II. I agree they really do not make the best polishing cloth, not very absorbent or soft. Good for a resting place for our timepieces...
