Buying my first Pam.... A 005

I'm taking the plunge and going to buy my first new Panerai...a Pam005. I'm frugal and looking for a good deal. I know a lot of you will say that finding one in stock from an AD is a good deal in itself, but I'm wondering what kind of discount I should expect. The one I've located has been quoted to be for $4900, that's $500 off of the $5400 retail price. Is this a good "price for a BNIB" from a dealer? Any insight is much appreciated!

Thanks!

Not too bad for a popular model.
Bring some cash and see if you can talk down couple more hundred bucks.

I haven't seen any used ones for much less than what I can purchase the new one for, I've actually seen some used ones for more. The other reason I want a new one is so that I can buy a "Q" series, which is the last year for the base models with logo.

Then there's always the 111 which is nice bit priced a but higher... Or the 233... Or the 510.... Oh yea, and the 590.

I think I better stick to the 005 to start with!
