Omega vs Breitling
Hey everyone... Debating between an Omega 46mm Seamaster Planet Ocean Chrono (blue dial, blue rubber strap) and a 44mm Breitling Bentley GT or 46mm Navi World, again blue dial/blue leather strap... No, I don't dive, and no I'm not a world traveler, I just like the the larger sized chronos and the blue/blue is a must for me
So, any thoughts between the 2? Better watch, brand, finish, movement, resale etc... Thanks for the help |

Navi world for me! Have had the blue dial for going on 10 years now Tons of compliments on it. It's the only breitling for me since I sold my super avenger.
I can't say I like anything about the Bentley models so I'll keep my mouth shut. The omega is a very cool piece as well. I'd be proud to wear it. So depends if you want a dive watch or a pilot chrono |

I think the Planet Ocean or the World are the better two out of three. Aesthetics are entirely subjective. If you prefer an in-house movement, then the omega 9300 co-axial in house movement beats the Breitling caliber 24 (modified valjoux 7754). If you prefer water resistance, then the Omega wins because you shouldn't even get a navitimer wet. However, if you prefer the gmt complication then the world will be the watch for you. I've had the blue dialed world, and it's a real beauty and a great watch.
I also think you should consider the new navitimer 46mm in blue (released this year). It doesn't have the GMT, but it's the same size as the world but is powered by Breitling's in house movement, which can also be seen through the case-back. |
