Thoughts on this Hublot?

Hi all ,

Been looking over the last few weeks for a new watch to add to my collection. Nothing over the top or mind blowingly expensive. I currently have a Rolex and an Omega and fancied something a little different this time.

I came across this Hublot a few days ago and I have to admit I really like it.

I know Hublot gets a fair amount I stick on here and that some of their models are way over the top but I liked this one.

It's a 40mm so it won't take over my entire arm.

Any thoughts, both positive and negative would be appreciated.

I dislike hublot for a plethora of reasons but some pieces are at least good looking. This ain't one of them. As mentioned above the breguet xx blows this out of the water IMHO.

Is that even a real Hublot? It looks like a confused AP+Panerai design. About the only thing that I like is the ETA 7750 movement.

I don't think this has the 7750..seconds sub dial at three suggests in most cases a 2894 (modular 2892 chrono ) unless it's a girard perregaux in-house chrono..ofcourse there are other chronos with that dial layout but I am only guessing the most probable ones...anyway, I mostly don't like hublots but there are some models I do give a good design approval to, and this one, IMHO, could be there if it didn't cut numerals so strangely and the kind of shrouded crown also kills it...if it were just a little sharper I'd quiet have liked it...but it's better than a lot of the flashy later stuff from them and is from MGM era so it's a bit more likeable IMHO again. :)

Not a huge fan of the brand, like many others. And really do not like that one, too busy. Depends on the cost, but have to imagine that there is a GP or GO or something else out there for compeer able $ that is a better example.

I have to say I like this model, it's far less offensive than some of the other models I've seen, if you like it I would pull the trigger!

Well the feedback certainly isn't what I had hoped for lol

I personally like the watch and it adds something different to my current collection.

It really isn't as bad as some of you are making out. Maybe just a bad picture, or maybe the hatred of Hublot really does run that deep ! Lol

I think I am going to go for it. This model does come with the dial with numbers like in the picture or without numbers and just stick bars. I personally prefer the numbers.

So just a quick update for you all.

Many of you will be very pleased to know that I have decided against going for the above Hublot.

I have instead seen a Breitling Blackbird which i much prefer and had a much cleaner looking appearance.

Any thoughts on the below would be welcome.

Not a huge Breitling guy myself but between the two, this is absolutely the right choice!!

I think you made the right choice.

I like some Hublot models, but the one that you posted just looked downright odd.

It's just an older pre Big Bang hublot. I believe those were called mdm models? The super b came after. And then the Big Bang.

I think that you made out ok, I love Breitling and the Blackbird is one of the coolest watches. I have owned two myself. Your original post seemed like you were happy to get the Hublot, and if your anything like me you will still end up getting one. Congrats either way on your purchase, wear it in great health!
