datejust question

recently got a SS sub which I really enjoy. My first rolex was a SS date which I liked for its understated quality. After wearing the sub for the past seven months, the SS date at 34mm seems just too small for me. I was thinking of selling the date and replacing it with a similiar SS datejust but I'm not crazy about the changes made to the datejust like the new bezel and band. What was the last model of the datejust available before the watch was changed and is it possible to find this model for sale that is not preowned. Thanks for your help.

Hi, last model was 2006 though april 07 before the change, I believe. Are you in upstate NY or NYC? Mabye the smaller stores could have left over previous styles before the change. Touneau and Ross simons has mostly new models.

i have just picked up a Vintage late 70's/early 80's DJ (16014), found it in mint condition as the owner is a friend. Always fancied the old looks compared to the newer ones. Old is still good.....aka classic look. :)

I love my Date Just tt 16233. Look so classic, and I think this model is one of the famous DJ ever made.

Very true. The 16233 was first introduced in the very early '80s and was the first TT DJ to come out with the sapphire crystal and 18 K gold (a change over from the previous 14 K gold).

Same model is now the 116233 with a "larger" case and newer style and much improved Oyster and Jubilee bracelets.

Man....that's just gotta be one of the best looking bracelets to come out of Rolex in recent times. Pity they come fitted on a 36 mm watch!!
