Need help gift for wife

Hi,

Looking at buying my wife a watch for her 40th birthday. She doesnt own any watch now aside from the forerunner she use to run...

I own an 16 years old date 11520 and an Omega PO 8500.

She is not into bling bling and i am the "high maintenance" of the couple.

I have an AD offer for a steelLady date just 31, domed, White with roman dial, oyster bracelet for $6000

Would this be a good choice for everyday wear, with jeans or black dress ?

Still balancing between fluted bezel and jubille bracelet ? Lady date 26 maybe ? Or the datejust 36 ? Need help and opinion from ladies as well !

Any comments welcome
Thanks

Lady dj with jubillee, and flutted bezel would be my suggestion. As for 26mm, 31mm or 36mm sizes are purely what your wife would be comfortable wearing. Why dont you take her to AD and take lots of pictures when she's trying on watches and enjoy some experience? I am sure she would be delighted.

Dont forget to post some pics here

My wife wears my former white stainless daytona and sometimes wears my GMTIIC but probably would avoid a smaller watch. If you know your wife, pick what you think she would like but make arrangements at the dealer to have her exchange it for something she likes more just in case.

I would go with the watch your AD has. You stated she is not into ''bling'' so the domed bezel and oyster bracelet sounds like it would fit her perfectly. Also go with the 31mm.

It depends on her wrist size and taste. But if she is not a bling type person and has a slender build a 26mm lady DJ or a 31mm midsize would be perfect.

My experience picking out a Rolex for my wife:
I picked one out and took it home, with AD ok, and she said no way.
So I took her to the store and made suggestions which she nixed.
So I shut up.
She selected one I did not even consider; a 31mm DJ, Oyster bracelet, smooth bezel, and silver dial.

The lesson is to let her pick it out!

I very much admire and applaud your generosity.
I think that the model you have on mind is an excellent start, and if it "had" to happen right now, I would say - "go for it". It would be a wonderful watch for all the reasons you mentioned.
Since it sounds like you have a little more time, I would agree with suggestion to introduce more models to her first.
Good luck, and please let us know about the result. Bravo.
