Rolex on Leather......My Father.

As we push into 2015 it is important to remember that time is fleeting and stops for no one. We here all enjoy the ticking of a finely made watch - just remember to savor each tick with family and friends as much as possible -remembering those who are no longer physically with you and now only in memory and spirit.
BELOW - - - the strap is made from my Father's baseball glove. He was a semi pro player with Ray Stewarts in Trenton. He was one hell of a pitcher and wore it on his left hand............ so for me it fits like a glove. To all on a great 2015!!!!

Thanks Drew, I love it. Now I need to look for some leather. Who made it for you?

I think that is one of the coolest ideas I have seen here, Drew! Very imaginative and impressive! It must have been hard recycling your dads baseball mitt into a strap instead of leaving it intact but it makes SO much sense. How often to we actually play baseball anymore???? In my case, not much as I've handed that torch over to my son who is playing Division I in college now. It's a great way to keep something that was loved by your father so close to you in a beautiful strap with a great story!

That's great on your son playing div-1! For me although I played as a youth was never really that good the most memorable times for me now was walking 4 in a row in little league and having a catch in the front yard with my dad. He never pushed me he adjusted to my interests and supported each and everyone of them over the years. A wonderful father- I know he would have supported my decision on the glove. For me it's a wearable tribute connecting another of my interests to him yet again.

Yeah, I'm really proud of him. He's a MUCH better player than I ever was. He's a chemical engineering major and I have no idea how he holds it all together and still gets great grades??? He told me that if he makes it to the majors he'd buy me a 116718 with his first paycheck! It's a long shot but if he does I'm holding him to that promise!
Again, congratulations on your ingenuity in having this beautiful strap made! Every time you look at it I'm sure you'll think of him! A wonderful tribute and it warmed my heart to see it! I wish there was something of my father's that I could do something similar with it. Just to have something that was important and loved by him that I could keep close to me. Now you've got me thinking!!!!!!
