"Wrong" wrist wearers.......switch hitters?

Worn the same Datejust 1603 since bought new in 1978.

I have always been right handed and wore the watch on my left wrist for 5 years and then progessivly found the crown? Winder doodad irritating the back of my left hand.

Have worn it on my right wrist for the last 30. I will switch over if hammering or chopping wood etc.

Any one else in the same boat?

I prefer to wear mine on the right wrist as well. It came naturally to me when I was a kid, until my dad said that watches are always worn on the left... But I like the right better...

I am also right handed, and have always worn my watch on the right wrist. Just always felt natural. Whenever I have tried to place it on my left, I feel completely out of balance.

I'm left handed and used to wear my watch on the right wrist. However, my bracelets kept getting scratched up from dragging the clasp against my desk while using a mouse, so I switched to my left wrist. Took about a month to not feel weird...

Ever since I bought this watch I've only worn it on my right wrist (I'm left handed, but have always worn previous watches on my left wrist). The Rolex just feels at home on the right side.

Which string is that?

To the OP, I wear mine on my left and I'm right-handed. My brother and father do "switch," however.

I wear my watch on my left wrist but the only time I switch is when I am on a flight, depending on which side the seat belt buckle is on. I scratched up a clasp quite bad on a seat belt buckle while sleeping on a flight once.

It the buckle is on the left side of me I will put my watch on my right wrist.
I think it is so incredibly uncomfortable on my right wrist. It feels so wrong haha.
I don't know how people go on to make a switch.

Hmmmmm. I'm traditional, I find it interesting when people switch it up though. Maybe tomorrow I will wear my Sub on the right hand. For fun.

edit: just tried it on the right wrist and it feels so wrong, experiment cancelled.

I tried to put it on my left when I was young because that's where you're supposed to put your watch when you are right handed.

Unfortunately the crown always dug into the top of my left hand so I've been wearing my watch on the right ever since. Now I can't even consider putting it onto my left. Feels completely out of place.

Interesting thread. I've noticed quite a few wrist shots with the watches on the right wrist and I just thought to myself "wow, it looks like TRF has an unusually high amount of left-handed people" I guess it's just a matter of preference.

I'm right handed but have worn my watches on my left hand since I was given my first watch 25 years ago when I was a kid. It just feels natural to me.

I'm right handed and wear my watch on the left.

Over the years, every now and then I try switching to my right wrist just for fun.

It would only stay there for a few minutes at most as it always feels too unnatural to me.

If you can wear it on either wrist just as easily, does it make you amphibious?

I'm just like the OP only the opposite. Lefty/Lefty. Though just for the ducks of it I'll occasionally wear it on the right wrist once in a while for no reason.

Contrary to popular belief, there is no right wrist to wear your watch on.

In fact, all the evidence shows that this is nothing to do with etiquette, and instead purely down to comfort.

While you might have heard that right-handed people should wear a watch on their left wrist, and vice versa, this convention arose historically entirely because in the age of manual mechanisms, it was simply easier to wind your watch on your wrist with our dominant hand. It's also more comfortable to undertake everyday tasks such as writing with your watch on the other wrist..........

I solved the "crown irritation"issue that my 14060M Sub was giving me with an adjustable strap. Tightening the strap on cold days /nights makes the watch sit right all the time. Now I am fully blessed with my second Rolex, Explorer II 42mm, and it features the fabulous design feature called Easy Link which enables a perfect "loose" and "tight" fit with its two settings. Fast change too.. Yay for Rolex!
A Sub with Glidelock clasp is my next "item of interest".

I'm righty and wear it on my left wrist. I've tried in the past to wear it on my right wrist, due to poison ivy, and it was too uncomfortable for me
